The best SpyFu alternative, answered up front
seogeoaeo.ai for competitor ads and keywords per report, Google's Transparency Center for free ad copy, SpyFu if you need years of ad tests.
The best SpyFu alternative for most people is seogeoaeo.ai. It gives you a competitor's Google ads, its organic keywords and a keyword gap report as separate runs, priced in credits, so you pay for the reports you open instead of a monthly seat you rarely use. For a rival's current ad copy alone, Google's Ads Transparency Center is free and comes first.
That is the answer. The rest of this page covers the questions people usually ask next.
Why seogeoaeo.ai and not another suite?
Because most SpyFu users are after three things: what a rival advertises, what it ranks for, and what it wins that they do not. seogeoaeo.ai has a tool for each:
- Competitor Google Ads (15 credits) reads the Google ads that send people to a site and shows their formats, how long each has run, and the copy of the longest-running text ads.
- Competitor Keywords (35 credits) lists the searches a site ranks for, with volume, difficulty and cost per click.
- Keyword Gap (85 credits) shows the keywords one rival holds in Google's top 20 where your site has no ranking.
Plans start at $29 a month for 2,000 credits. A run that fails before it returns a result costs nothing. See how the credits work before you sign up.
How much does SpyFu cost?
We cannot tell you from a verified source. SpyFu's pricing page blocked our request when we checked in October 2026, so we leave its price out rather than guess. Check spyfu.com directly.
Is there a free SpyFu alternative?
Partly. Google gives you three free sources:
- Ads Transparency Center for the ads a verified advertiser has run, searched by advertiser or website.
- Keyword Planner for monthly search estimates and bid costs, once your Google Ads account has billing details.
- Search Console for the queries your own verified site appears for.
None of them shows a competitor's organic keywords or a gap between their rankings and yours. That data always comes from a third party, which is where a paid tool earns its keep.
Can any tool show the keywords a competitor bids on?
Not with certainty. Google does not publish advertisers' bid keywords. SpyFu offers a list of the paid keywords it believes a competitor buys, and that list is an estimate. seogeoaeo.ai does not offer one at all; its ads tool shows the ads themselves, and Competitor Keywords shows organic rankings.
What do you give up by leaving SpyFu?
Be honest about this part. SpyFu's own site lists:
- ad test history that shows which ads a rival kept and which it dropped
- monitoring of the domains that bid on your keywords
- negative match suggestions for your Google Ads account
- rank tracking and keyword ranking history
- branded SEO client reports
- an AI site audit, a GPT for ChatGPT and an API
It says it covers 38 countries and holds more than 18 years of data. If your work depends on years of a rival's ad tests or on monthly client reports, SpyFu is still the better fit and you should keep it.
Which countries does seogeoaeo.ai cover?
Its keyword and competitor tools take one of 20 markets, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Japan. The Google ads tool can also search all countries at once. Check your market before you buy any tool.
Can I run it from an AI agent?
Yes. Every plan includes MCP and REST access, so Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client can run a competitor report and read the result. Agent runs cost the same as runs in the browser.
